This morning started off how I wish all mornings could be spent as I was eating brunch at 19 Cafe Bar in the Northern Quarter. Brunch is my favourite sort of meal to go for so I was really excited for today and I’ve been counting it down for a few days now.
Located on Lever Street, 19 Cafe Bar is super easy to find and has a lovely relaxed vibe. The table service was perfect and our food was brought out was so quickly.
From the menu, I chose to have the Halloumi open bagel which is a vegetarian dish and comes to £9. It is a bagel with smashed avocado, halloumi, sun-dried tomato and two poached eggs with a drizzle of thyme oil.
If you read my blog before you will know I am a huge fan of eggs for brunch but I have never had any before with sun-dried tomato. And I don’t think I’ve ever actually had smashed avocado before either which is basically a brunch sin considering everyone went a bit mad for avocado this year. But oh my god it was good, I could eat smashed avocado all day every day. halloumi has got a beer in my top 5 favourite foods and I have it so much in a week so obviously, my choice had to be a halloumi dish. I find that sometimes with brunch the portion sizes can often be a little bit small but this is not the case at all with 19 Cafe Bar, you definitely get a lot for your money.
My friend Sinmi chose to have the pancake stack which comes to £8.50 and she had this with bacon drizzled with syrup. As much as I love halloumi and eggs I did have a little bit of food envy when her food came so had to take a quick picture as well.
Thank you so much 19 Cafe Bar for this collaboration and a great Tuesday morning, it was a lovely start to my day and we received excellent service and the quality of the food was so good. I will definitely be back 🙂
