Today I’m going to tell you about one of the greatest cafes I have EVER been to that I discovered whilst on my York trip called The York Roast Co. I’m so sad that they don’t have one in Manchester as it was one of the best meals I have had. If you’re in York please please go and visit this cafe and order the Yorkypud wrap. I promise that you won’t be disappointed!

Based right in the center of York you cannot miss this cafe as the queues will be right up the street as it seems like a clear Yorkshire favourite. I always think if a a place looks busy the food must be good, not too say that empty places won’t be good too but ya get the jist. It’s been open since 2004 and has a few different venues across York so you’re bound to find one as you’re walking about. I first heard about the brand via social media as I kept on seeing videos of these giant Yorkshire puds but I completely forgot that it was in York (duh!) so that was a nice treat when I found it on my Wednesday outing. They also have one in Chester, Shrewsbury and Salisbury. I’m calling it out here that one will come to Manchester eventually. Have to see if I’m right. If I am I hope they see this blog post and give me a free yorkypud.

If you want to check out the menu click here: http://www.theyorkroastco.com/menu ! So, I ordered the turkey yorkypud which had turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, roast potatoes and gravy inside a huge Yorkshire pudding (omg!) which is rolled up like a giant burrito. It was heaven. I was worried there was going to be a gravy explosion when I took a bite but surprisingly the gravy stayed in. It was just over £5 for my wrap which I think is really cheap considering the size and it’s popularity.

If you’re in York, Chester etc and love Yorkshire puddings then this is the shop for you. I’m gonna have to take a trip back at some point as you can have so many different fillings and I feel like it’s only fair if I go and try the rest.

If you’ve been before please tell me so we can discuss our love for huge Yorkshire puddings and gravy.
